PROGRAMS

The Atlanta Power Over Prejudice (POP) Summit and In-School Follow-Up Program represent opportunities for middle school students from across the metro-Atlanta area to have a positive, interactive learning experience with peers of widely diverse ethnic, cultural, economic and religious backgrounds.  This two-part program teaches students the value of tolerance and cooperation among different racial, religious and ethnic groups.

Our goals are:
*To increase awareness and understanding of the many forms of prejudice students encounter within their schools including stereotypes related to ethnicity, race, religion, disability, culture and economic differences.
*To provide an educational opportunity and safe forum for students of diverse backgrounds to talk, exchange ideas and interact.
*To allow students to gain valuable insight into their roles and responsibilities in reducing prejudice and hate, empowering them with the knowledge and skills to affect positive change in themselves and their school communities
